Back on Track: A Personal Update and Fathership’s Next Steps

Hey everyone,

I’ve been a little quiet lately—and if you know me, you know that silence isn’t usually my thing. So I wanted to take a moment to explain where I’ve been, what’s been going on, and most importantly, what’s coming next for the Fathership Program.

The truth is, I’ve been dealing with some major health challenges. It’s personal, and I’m not quite ready to get into the details publicly. But I will say this—it knocked me off course more than I expected. Life has a way of throwing curveballs that force you to stop, reassess, and shift focus. That’s exactly what happened. And while I haven’t wanted to be away from the work we’re building here, I’ve had no choice but to prioritize getting back to health.

That said, I’m on the mend. I’ve been doing the work, physically and mentally, and I’m doing everything I can to get back in the saddle. Because this program? It’s everything to me. My health is important—but so is my education, my grandchildren, and this mission we’ve committed to together.

One major step we’ve been preparing for is our NAMA certification. This certification is what will allow our anger management, emotional intelligence, and domestic violence prevention courses to be court-approved. It's the final gatekeeper between this dream and the men who need these services but can’t afford traditional programs. And that’s exactly who we’re fighting for.

But like most things that matter, it comes with a price tag. I’ve been scrambling to figure out how to cover the cost of certification while also juggling basic living expenses. It hasn’t been easy—but I’m not giving up. Every bit of energy I’ve got left goes toward making sure we get this done.

So for those of you who’ve been waiting, wondering, or even worrying—thank you. Thank you for your patience, your support, and your belief in this work. We’re still here. I’m still here. And I’m coming back with even more fire than before.

Nothing is more important to me than standing back up, finishing what we started, and getting the Fathership Program where it needs to be—not someday, but soon.

Much love and gratitude,

Todd Thomas
